Go Paperless!
Sarah Bryant shows how paperless transactions are now a reality
Armed with a tablet PC, a licensed “e-signature” software package and a drive to sell homes, Sarah Bryant is blazing a new trail in the world of Toronto’s sales reps. As of last October, she moved over to an electronic management platform system — it’s paperless — for all of her real estate transactions.
The system allows her to deliver listings, sales, closings and all other documents online. “It’s quick and easy. On a deal-per-deal basis, I would say it cuts 80per cent of my run around time and it provides better service for my clients,” says Bryant, a sales rep with Toronto’s RE/MAX Hallmark Realty.
In a nutshell, here’s how a paperless transaction for a home purchase works: Bryant shows prospective buyers a house. If they like it she writes up a contract on her tablet PC. Her clients review the contract, make corrections if necessary and then simply sign the document on the pen-enabled screen of the tablet PC. Bryant can then email the signed documents off to her broker’s office and to a lawyer, mortgage broker, bank or whoever requires a copy.
All signed documents are automatically backed up into a secure online vault. Even if Bryant lost her computer, her documents are secure and retrievable at any time…continued.
